“Study
the rules so that you won't beat yourself by not knowing something.”
-- Babe Didricksen Zaharias
Babe Didricksen, recognized as one of the predominant athletes and golfers of the 20th Century, understood the value of knowing the rules. Name another sport that has more rules than the game of golf. Soccer, Hockey, Football? I don't think so. Learning the rules and etiquette of golf is just as important as practicing your swing and putts. Maybe more so. Why? Because you have the responsibility of serving as your own judge and jury in many instances on the course.
Mohonk's Robert Gutkin, Hypnotist and Golf Professional offers a patterned way to learn golf. Our goal is to learn mind-body coordination. The emphasis is on learning, over a period of time, how to focus the body-mind to produce a movement of the body-- known as the golf swing. The New School of Golf™ offers, in it's women only class, a non-linear, right brain intuitive approach. Typical 21st century teaching relies mainly on the linear left side of the brain and an overload of technical information will be the resultant . Women's golf is based on a high percentage of mind-body coordination and a low percentage on physical force.
You are taught how to focus your power and energy to engineer (create) a swing that will transfer centrifugal energy from the center of your body through your arms, hands, shaft, club head and finally into the ball.
gutkin.org teaches you how to "Play"- a skill lost by most adults. Golf is a performance [sport] and as with any performance there is a script and specific mind-body practice requirements.
The movement of the golf swing is choreographed in a series of steps. The body movements will be broken into chunks, or forms allowing the left brain to "map out" the correct body movements (or swing pattern). Once the cognitive left side is satisfied (meaning when it comprehends the information) I will teach you how to transfer this information using the body's intelligence. In time you will be using the body's intelligence to hit the golf ball. The same body intelligence you use when walking.
Mohonk's Robert Gutkin, Hypnotist and Golf Professional has developed a program of harmony for training the mind, body and spirit. for excellence. The combination of sport (golf) and hypnotherapy is fertile soil for unique ideas and expedited performance.
