"Come, play golf with me my friends. Plus Fours are stylish in
my world."
- Robert Gutkin, Golf Professional Hypnotist at Large
"The goal of my lectures are to teach your body to perform what the
your intellect already has been taught. I will teach you how to perform
the desired movements without conscious awareness."
Robert Gutkin, Golf Professional, New Paltz, U.S.A.
So, you think the game of golf is all about whacking a little white ball around a big rolling green lawn?
Wrong ...
Successful
golf is much more than a ball chase, or as Mark Twain acerbically
termed it, “a good walk spoiled.” The sport of golf is a uniquely
engaging and enigmatic challenge that demands golfers use every part of
themselves - bodies and minds, in an integrated way. Working with the
concept of mind-body integration is the foundation of gutkin.org
teaching methods.
Twenty-first Century sport training is
full of new ideas and extremely exciting. The scientific community has
become involved in sport training from sport psychologists, Hypnotists
and life coaches. Lying within each of us is the potential for great
achievements. Cooperation and training of both sides of the brain is
the key to peak performance.
Traditional teaching is reliant
on the left side of the brain which is linear, analytical and literal;
attention is focused on technical, specific body positions which
hinders the smooth flow of the golf swing. Traditional teaching methods
focus on the physical side while stating the game of golf is 90%
mental. Imagine a little league ball player around the age of 11.
Further imagine this young playful athlete being told to place their
weight on the left side before throwing and to angle their shoulders at
23 degrees for the perfect trajectory. Well, this is how you are being
taught to play golf if the instructor is relent on the left brain and
only pays a salute to the right brain hemisphere.
gutkin.org
is aware of the importance of training both left and right hemispheres
of the brain. gutkin.org integrates the left brain (logical
information) with the right brain (universal information). gutkin.org
works with the right hemisphere and body's intelligence allowing you to
perform without conscious awareness. Movements are practiced until a
neural network is created in the brain and they become unconscious,
effective, motor skills that you no longer need to pay conscious
attention to, commonly called "muscle memory". An example of this would
be juggling balls: each movement is learned using the left brain to map
the pattern and is then done "automatically" using the right side of
the brain.
gutkin.org opens up dialogue to discuss the
extraordinary potential available to each one of us. Most of the ideas
discussed in this guide are applicable in other areas of your life if
optimal performance is your goal.
